'For many centuries people have believed that the ominous significance of a particular object or occurrence could alter their future circumstance'.
Could this be applied to the black face of a Border Morris Dancer?!
In the summer of 2007, Fuji Film invited members of The Assoctiation of Photographers to use their Neopan black and white film to portray their own interpretation of 'superstition'. As well as the creative idea, entries had to show the photographer's skill in using black and white film. This is the blacked- up face of Colin Stubbs, a member of Rabble Folk Theatre, submited by me, that was selected for exhibition of best work.
The exhibition has now finished but, good news! The picture has been selected to go into The Association of Photography's calendar for 2008 (May).
